Description

How can we become better professionals in the real estate industry?  Enhancing the performance of real estate professionals is captured in one word: EDUCATION.  Training for real estate professionals must comprise not only the technical and legal aspects of the industry, but also focus on ethical and professional standards. 

In this course, you'll begin by identifying those aspects of the real estate industry that erode professional performance, so we can reinforce positive performance and eliminate the behavior that erodes the public trust, as the public trust is the ethical and economic strength of the real estate industry.

Objectives

Upon completion of this three-hour course, the student will be able to:

  • Discuss five aspects of behavior that erode professional performance.
  • Understand what constitutes professional behavior in the Real Estate Industry.
  • Identify the ten characteristics of professionalism.
  • List the items that can prohibit the sale or purchase of a property before the transaction even gets started.
  • Relate the steps for correct property showing protocol.
  • Relate the role of Professional Standards and the Code of Ethics to professionalism in the Real Estate Industry.
  • Discuss the REALTORS® Pathways to Professionalism.
  • Identify common contract pitfalls.
  • Understand the issues regarding disclosures.
