Description

Condominiums, cooperatives and other types of common ownership are commonly misunderstood. This course will dispel some of the misconceptions and address other aspects related to homeowners’ associations, timeshares, and fractional ownership, valuation of common properties, and listing, selling and renting condominiums. This course is intended as an introduction to the subject of the forms of common ownership.

Objectives

At the completion of this course, a participant will be able to:

  • Compare the different forms of common ownership.
  • Facilitate the sale or purchase of common ownership-associated property in compliance with legal requirements
  • Relate the governance, legal rights, and legal responsibilities to the form of common ownership in question
  • Identify the physical characteristics (structures, property types, common elements) associated with each form of common ownership
